Education Abroad Office Scholarships


Education Abroad
Kansas State University


Below are the available education abroad scholarships that you can be considered for if you have submitted your K-State Scholarship Network general application

  • Catherine Joyce Memorial Scholarship

    • ​For degree or non-degree student properly enrolled in any curriculum and selected to participate in an official Kansas State University education abroad program

    • Preference will be given to a student enrolled in the College of Engineering and students who are residents of states other than Kansas.

  • Doris Hays Fenton Memorial Scholarship

    • ​For undergraduate or graduate students properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University applying for an education abroad experience.

    • Selection will be based on academic performance, promise and need.

  • Duane & Shirley Acker International Scholar Award

    • ​For undergraduate or graduate students who has a faculty-approved project involving an international experience related to their discipline or international priority of Kansas State University. 

    • Preference will be given to graduates of Kansas high schools with no previous international experience.  

  • Elfrieda Nafziger Scholarship:

    • ​For students properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University and participating in the university’s Education Abroad and/or International Service Learning programs.

    • Preference will be given to students traveling to Africa, Asia or Latin America.

  • Goss Discovery Scholarship:

    • ​For undergraduate or graduate students properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University applying to an education abroad experience for at least one semester.

    • Preference will be given to students who have graduated from a Kansas High School. 

    • If you receive and accept this scholarship are are required to engage in at least two campus opportunities to share educational and cultural experiences to encourage other students to participate in the program.

    • This scholarship is up to $5,000 per recipient

  • Heather Stewart Memorial Scholarship

    • ​For undergraduate or graduate students properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University applying to an education abroad experience.

    • Preference will be given to a student enrolled in the College of Health and Human Sciences.

  • Mary Lynn Manning Study Abroad Scholarship

    • ​For students properly enrolled in the College of Business Administration or the College of Arts and Sciences at KSU. 

    • The recipient shall be majoring in Business and minoring in Modern Languages; majoring in Modern Languages and minoring in Business, or majoring in both Business and Modern Languages. In addition the student should be participating in on or off-campus activities; working or volunteering (non-inclusive); and have a desire to go abroad for a summer, semester or longer, utilizing her (his) foreign language skills.

  • Megan E. Taylor Czech Republic Student Award:

    • This scholarship is automatic for students selected to participate on the exchange program with the University of Economics in Prague. 

    • For students traveling to the Czech Republic who are properly enrolled in the College of Business Administration or the Department of Economics at Kansas State University. 

    • While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to multi-cultural students and those who qualify for Federal Pell Grant Assistance.  K-State students are expected to study business or economics at the University of Economics in Prague.

  • Rodolfo J. Montes de Oca/Costa Rica Small Town International Scholarship:

    • ​For any student enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University who is from a small rural Kansas community.

    • Must have at least a 3.5 high school GPA, and maintain a 3.0 GPA at Kansas State University.

    • Must have been accepted into a Costa Rican education abroad program (i.e. a study tour, semester abroad or year abroad).

  •  Vernon Larson Scholarship

    • ​For undergraduate or graduate students properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University applying to go abroad.

    • Preference will be given to a student who has accumulated at least 30 academic credit hours at Kansas State University. Selection will be based on academic performance, promise and need.

  • Veronica Bonebrake International Scholarship

    • For students properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University applying to go abroad.

    • Preference will be given to students who have financial need and show academic potential.

  • ISA Affiliate Scholarships

    • This scholarship is for students participating on an approved ISA education abroad experience.

  • API Affiliate Scholarship

    • This scholarship is for students participating on an approved API education abroad experience. 

 

In all other respects, these funds will be used without restriction to race, gender, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation or ability. 

These scholarships can be used for any program, as long as the student has an active program application at the time of the scholarship review for each term and has submitted the K-State Scholarship Network general application. Scholarships administered by Education Abroad will be reviewed on the basis of financial need, program length, and academic merit. It is important to note that being considered for a scholarship does not guarantee the applicants will receive an award.
